ode to an intern
i have a new intern at work and his name is lou.
actually, lou is not so much my intern as he is my co-worker. and technically, lou is not new: he's been with the company for 13 years or so, while i have been there exactly one year tomorrow. (valentine's day is my anniversary with work - isn't that sweet/pathetic?)
so why do i call lou my intern? well, because he's endless entertaining and helpful to me on a daily basis. lou knows everything. everything about everything. for example, i mentioned to lou that i missed the season premiere of the west wing this year, and he tracked it down for me and burned it to dvd. awesome.
and then lou found a website where i could play UNO online. and then he discovered this website, which has provided us both with hours and hours and hours of moderately effective boredom-killing internet fun. i highly recommend monkey curling.
also, lou found this picture on the internet:
it's mr. bassi. okay, it's not actually mr. bassi, but it looks a whole lot like him. lou, my intern, found an illustration of mr. bassi online, and he's never even met mr. bassi. now that's a good intern. thanks, lou.
in other news, i have developed a crush on this man:
his name is shawn rojeski and he's on the US men's curling team. i like his glasses and his little beard. you can read all about him here. in the "personal" section, it says "he is single." sweet. shawn, call me.
p.s. my roommate has just invited me to something called a "roller derby." i don't think i've been to a derby of any sort in my entire life. thoughts?
p.p.s. i went to the gym today. the gym. anyone who knows me understands that this is extremely out of character and likely a sign of the apocolypse.
xoxo.
